WALKING WITH WOODSTOCK

I know I have mentioned in my bio that we all live in the beautiful Vale Of Belvoir and when I talk about we, what I mean is "the lovely Kate" who fills in all the spaces I create and leave behind in my quest for photographic perfection (who am I fooling!), Alfie Doodlehoare our mini-petite black rescue cat and Woodstock (Woody, The Woodsman, brown puppy, Woodyno! - take your pick). One of the great things about living here at this time of year are the walks, not so great when it is wet as the ground is full of clay which tends to get stuck to your shoes and while it does have the benefit of making you 3" taller, it takes forever to scrape it off. Today, however, there was hardly a cloud in the sky so with trusty camera in hand and Woodyno! in tow, we spent a few hours taking it all in.

BAD MOVE NO.5

I have to say I trawl the internet in search of interesting videos to make you laugh, to make you cry (in a good way) and sometimes to inspire you for your special day. With the latter in mind here are a few words that I think should inspire anyone into action.

IT'S HAPPENED AGAIN!

We just couldn't help ourselves - we had to give away another great prize at the Three Counties Wedding Fair held at the Hilton Hotel on 27 March!  Lucky winners were Nicola Gilbert and Martin Fountain (thanks for the picture guys) who will be getting married at Goosedale near Papplewick in September next year.  Nicola was so pleased by the news that she was going to receive £1,000 towards the cost of her wedding photography that she ran straight out of the house and booked a date (hopefully she has let Martin know by now!).  We also met Nicola's mum and sister at the event after I accosted them in the hallway of the hotel and enticed them with the promise of jelly babies (no pressure selling there then!) to my stand where we immediately got on like a house on fire. Kate and I can't wait to see them all again in the very near future because we have a feeling it's going to be a really fun day.  We also had five runners-up prizes on offer and all the lucky couples have been informed of their good fortune and we will no doubt be blogging about them all very soon.  We would both like to thank everyone who spoke to us on the day for their fantastic comments and we will be in touch with all the couples who have expressed an interest.

FRANKLY MY DEAR!

Nearly three years ago when my two wonderful children Nathan and Rebecca (Becki) were out spending Dad's money on their outfits for the prom that signified the end of their school days, I realised I would have to come up with something special to mark and celebrate all their hard work. Two outfits and an empty bank account later I needed a plan! Well I can't juggle, Nathan is really good at poker so card tricks are out of the question and to be honest I look stupid in a clown outfit (though I do remember looking good as Santa one year!).  Anyway after a lot of head scratching I realised I would have to reach for my trusty 5D (that's a camera for anyone remotely interested!) and start thinking creatively. Because they have both always fancied seeing themselves up on the big screen I did my best to create the next best thing - a movie film poster with all the trimmings. Credits, reviews that sort of thing. They both had their own themes and below is Nathan's which came straight to mind because the movie was everywhere at the time and he had aquired a swanky grey suit similar to the one worn by Daniel Craig. The lightning jet (which is real by the way) was a little harder to get hold of but I can't tell how I did it as it is obviously classified! We had so much fun organising and putting the posters together that we decided to offer them as a service and the response has been fantastic! Some couples have had them produced as their signature print for the wedding, two of which we have also included below. If you would like to know more about how you can star in your very own film poster please don't hesitate to get in touch.
