FOUR SEASONS IN A DAY!

A few months ago (late March) Kate and I started our wedding ventures for this year with James and Pam, beginning at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Nottingham City Centre for the prelims, then heading off to The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club in Cotgrave for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast and returning to the Crown Plaza for the late night festivities.

When we arrived in bright sunlight at the hotel for the first shots with Pam, we didn't have any idea of what challenges the weather had in store for us for the rest of the day!!

As a wedding photographer you will come across all sorts of situations that will test your ability and resolve and because Mother Nature has decided that the weather (even for good old Blighty) has been a tad unpredictable this year, this was one of those occasions!

As I said beautiful summer sunshine greeted us as we entered the Crown Plaza but sadly upon our exit an icy cold wind had developed reminding me I had left my lovely warm coat in the car! We both remarked upon the dark sky heading our way, hoping that it would not interfere with James and Pam's big day.  Alas it did, dishing out biting cold winds, freak snow storms dispersed with hail, rain and the odd cat and dog. Teasingly as if there is a photographic  God sadistically playing with his loyal subject, glorious sunshine would cascade through the windows every time the guests were seated!

Anyway as always in these situations everyone seemed to have a wonderful time only fleetingly taking their attention away from the happy couple to check on Mother Nature.

As for the photographers? We will live to fight another day.....

Below are just a few images from our adventure starting with one that I think kind of sums up the day.
