MAGIC PILL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS!

If you ever wondered how we photographers get through ten hours standing on our feet with a huge weight on one shoulder (not talking about kate honest!) making us walk aroung in circles keeping our beedy eyes on all the tears, laughter, dad dancing and finally total drunken delirium whilst sober? Wonder know more!

THE JOURNEY

I once read that it is not about the destination but more about the journey. That could never have been more true when six months or so ago I decided to revamp the websites and the logo. This has been a journey that has been arduous, frustrating and full of indecision, mostly on my part. Lessons learnt most definitely, the biggest being leave it to the experts! Anyway, this winding path has taking me from the grey and pink logo top left of the collection through the variations you see below to the pale blue and white logo you now see branded all over my websites.  I'm sure the observant among you will notice that the typeface and design is quite similar, in fact, exactly the same as the grey and pink logo I first started with ... So the ordeal of the last few months has driven me into making an inspired decision, changing the grey and pink colourscheme for a blue and white one!  In the end Quite simple really!

GREEN GREEN GRASS OF HOME

Pardon the pun because it has nothing to do with Tom Jones but everything to do with the upcoming wedding of Maxine and Richard at the beginning of May who are travelling all the way from Southampton back to Richard's home in North Wales.  We met with them in Nottinghamshire recently for their pre-shoot, soon realising that Maxine is going to be quite a handful (in a very good way of course!!).  We had a lot of fun on the shoot and are expecting the same kind of mayhem on their Big Day!

ONLY SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY

It doesn't seem five minutes since I put my camera down after the last wedding of the year in 2011 completely exhausted but here we are again!  Over the last few weeks we've been back on the pre-shoot trail, one of which is below with Kelly and John who will be getting married at the end of the month at Woodborough Hall.  Looking foward to sharing what we hope will be a fabulous day and meeting the rest of their families.

2011

Kate and I would just like to thank everyone who allowed us to be part of their special day in 2011. Again it has been another fantastic year and with bookings being our best yet for 2012 we cant wait for the coming year!
So we would both like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Speaking of which, I know there has been a smidgen of tardiness with my infrequent blog posting over the last year but I am sure you will all be glad to know that within my many New Year resolutions this will be rectified......promise!

Lots of Love

COUNCIL HOUSE SUCCESS

We were delighted to take part in the Council House Wedding Fair on 16 October this year organised by Nottingham City Council and would like to thank everyone for the great reception received.  It was a very successful day with seven lovely couples booking their wedding photography with us in 2012 and 2013, one of which included the winners of the competition we ran in conjunction with Nottingham City Council to win a fabulous photography package for their special day - we will be doing another posting about the winning couple early the New Year.

AMMIE & DAVE SNEEK PEEK

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of meeting up again with Ammie & Dave (previous post Quickie out the Back). This time it was for their big day, firstly at St Edward King & Martyr church in Castle Donington then moving on to one of our favourite venues, Sutton Bonington Hall. Kate and I had a fantastic day, managing to miss the worst of the weather and finishing off with a great chinwag with a few members of the family in the Library at Sutton Bonington. Below are just a few sneek peek pictures from their special day.

DERELICTION OF DUTIES

What can I say?  In the parlence of Monty Python I have been a very naughty boy! I seem to have been missing in action for over a month (doesn't time fly!). Alas nothing sinister. Not been kidnapped by a rare Amazonian tribe, not even been whisked away to a romantic Caribbean island by the lovely Kate and lastly and most unfortunatly it wasn't me who won the one hundred and one million on the European lottery! The sad but happy at the same time truth is that I have just been busy beavering away behind the scenes on all those horrible little jobs that have to be done, that makes neilhoyle photography such a wonderful place to be. One of these has been getting everything ready for our next wedding fair which is taking place at the Nottingham Council House on Sunday 16th October.  Both Kate and I love doing the fairs, hopefully meeting new friends and always catching up with some old ones. But to be honest, the fiddely bits either side, ummm! Anyway the good news is one of the things we have done for this event is team up with Nottingham City Council to give away a wedding package worth £1,250 to one lucky couple absolutely free!!! All you have to do to have a chance of winning is fill out a satisfaction questionnaire at the City Council's stand when you leave. What could be more simple? Also if you visit our stand in the Ballroom, will we will greet you with open arms and give you a chance to win £500 off one of our top packages!!! So hope to see you there and you never know your luck? For more details of the wedding fair go to www.mynottingham.gov.uk/weddingfair

PLEASE DO NOT ADJUST YOUR SET

Over the next few weeks you will see some odd things happening down on the farm. Kate and I are making some changes to the blog and the web site so it could be a little confusing while we, (me really!) consider the changes and then make any changes to those changes if needed!. Fairly simple when you know what you're doing?
